A Study on the Present situation of Using Antibiotics

Abstract
|
|
|
This study examines the present situation of using the antibiotics for 940 inpatients and 11,440 outpatients in some general hospitals in Seoul, and obtains the conclusions as follows;
1. The ration of antiobiotics toward the price of medial prescription is 39.12％ inpatients and 21.32％ in outpatiens
2. In terms of the actual situation of usage for each Generic & chemical name index of the inpatients and outpatients, the chloramphenical of antibiotics is mostly used as 43.52％ and antibiotics against gram(＋) bacteria is 36.01％, antibiotics against acid-fast bacteria, 13.35％, other antibiotics & compound antibiotics, 5.98％, antibiotics against gram(±) bacteria, 0.96％, antibiotics against fungus & protozoa, 0.1％, and macrolide, 0.08％ in former case. And in latter case, chlorampheicol is also mostly used as 55.48％ and antibiotics against gram(＋) bacteria, 36.01％, antibiotics against gram(±) bacteria, 13.49％, antibiotics against acid-fast bacteria is 3.49％, other antibiotics & compound antibiotics, 1.58％, macrolide, 0.47％, antibiotics against fungus & protozoa, 0.34％ in order.
And antibiotics against gram(－) bacteria is not used to the inpatients and outpatients.
3. In the present situation of using the antibiotics for 14 departments of medical examination, the ratio of price in antibiotics to the total medicin´s prices, the plastic surgery is 59.6％ as the first ratio, otorhinolaryngology, 59.5％ eye specialiyt, 56.5％, dental surgery, 55.1％, urology, 50.1％, general surgery, 49.8％, obsteties & gynecology, 48.7％, pediatrics, 46.7％, orthopedic surgery, 43.7％, chest surgery, 43.0％, dermatology, 34.9％, nerves surgery, 23.5％, medicine, 22.8％ and nerves psychopathological is 4.3％ in order, for the inpatients.
In the out-patients, plastic surgery shows the highest ratio as 74.5％, and ruology is 50.1％, pediatrics, 57.2％, dental surgery, 55.8％, chest surgery, 48.5％, general surgery, 37.7％, dermatology, 34.8％, otorhinolayngology, 25.6％, obstetrics & gynecology, 25.3％, eye speciality, 10.5％, orthopedic surgery, 10.5％, medicine 6.6％, nerves surgery, 4.6％, nerves psychopathological, 0.9％.
